Interesting to see some one do it. sheer lunacy though.

I think that's a pretty quick way to screw an otherwise great acoustic.

Compound Radius methods. What's yours?

I was on another forum ( Yep, I cheated on you  ) and a question was posed to me in regards to my method of compound radiussing and whether there are other methods to do this. I guess first I should spill the way I achieve these and hopefullly you guys may have other ways to achieve the same ...

I always preferred to get my own beers anyway. I'd get clipped over the ear for asking the missus to get me a beer when I'm workshoppin' it. it's always just a couple of steps behind me at the workbench. I wouldn't mind one of those St Bernards with the barrel around their necks to follow me ...

Good to hear you're back out there. Lets face it, You need the work cos there's still more tonewood out there to buy in the future and I'm sure you've got a few places you could stash 'em. This could be a great time to take aboard some shell, a jewellers saw, a couple of files and come up with...

That looks like it's a lot bigger than my garage. Must be nice to have that sort of elbow room. Though I shouldn't complain. When mates come over and look at my set up they are in awe, so I suppose we just need to work with what we have. At least it's not working in the loo, hey Hesh? Thanks ...

I agree with loading your drummy up with 80 grit. I've got a Twin drum sander using 80 grit on the entry drum , 120 grit on the finishing drum and I'm finding the 80 grit lasts a heck of a lot longer than the 120 grit. In fact I haven't changed the 80 grit drum yet, whereas I've changed the 120 grit...

I'm happy to wait as well, Bob.

Most of my machinery is from Carbatec. The majority of stuff I picked up myself but the bigger ones like my twin drum drum sander I relied on them to deliver. On the third failed attempt, I rang them up with a fair case of the cranky-pants , hired a caged trailer and did all the grunt work myself. M...

That sounds like a plausible scenario, Allen. Overcorrection and settling in past the preferred point. The only other major problem would be major humidity changes, maybe brought about by going from a humid area to a well airconditioned room. (like a wall unit. Dries out the air damn quick) A trusse...

Just out of curiosity, Allen.
Considering cowboys of the ole' wild west wore chaps too,
I'm wondering whether you also end up getting that bow-leg, wide-gaited walk when you hop off the scooter, maybe not too dissimilar to a cowboy after dismounting from his mighty steed ?
