Re: Another hollow electric

Hi Alan His initials are TT, now moved to Brisbane.

Hi Taffy thanks for the comments, I quite like a good piece of NGR. When ever I visit timber yards I tend to walk out with something different to what I was after.

Thanks Alan, I had to build another RS inspired guitar as one of my Red Specials has ventured north to one of your former pupils I think.

Re: Pore fill question

Well I have used many brands of epoxy over the years, boats etc and yes got all the allergies. As for pore filling and I am not an acoustic builder so you may take this with a grain of salt :) The best I've used for full setting in thin layers is the West with the 207 hardener, it's flows better tha...

Re: B & G style guitar

Looks great, and well done with the pickups.
I think this style of guitar hollow, single coils is the direction I've been heading.
Also like a good zero fret. Cheers Mark

That is a fantastic collection, and really stunning presentation. Did you build the Red Special too? And which one gets played the most? Thanks Mark, yes all home builds. There is a thread somewhere here on the Red special http://www.anzlf.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=7486#p84884 I actually have built ...

Re: Couple electrics.

Thanks Dave, I thick the biggest notable difference in feel of the headless there is a lot less weight in the head. People also associate active pickups with heavy metal which isn't my thing, I'm mostly into clean sounds and find the actives produce a more piano like clean.

Re: Another hollow electric

Thanks for the info Mark. That really explains it. But I have some follow-up questions (sorry). When you mention 8oz cloth, I presume that is referring to 8oz/sq yard, which seems to be a specification I see in that merchant’s website? Secondly, do you lay this up in a flat square shape and then cu...

Re: Another hollow electric

Hi Mark, sorry to hear of your failure on the tailpiece, but you did learn something as I do with failures. The whole strength of this is the CF, the wood is just cosmetic. I always have CF sheet made up which I do by cutting numerous layers of CF cloth into about 300mm squares and laying it up betw...

Hi Mark, Looks great! How is the tremolo? It looks like it's integrated with the bridge - which looks like it has roller saddles? Very neat and tidy looking! Enjoyed the clip Allan, the cnc work was quite interesting to watch. and a great end result.
I think I have read in past posts that you use PPG 2 pack, Is this still the case? I use the D800 range here myself on a few projects.
