Re: maton square head truss rod adjuster

I also purchased the extension version truss rod adjuster tool for my now 47 year old FG 150, !2 string, Acoustic Maton Guitar, about 15 years ago from the Guitar Factory, Parramatta. At first I found it difficult after taking off the strap tail button and then sliding it in to align and fit into th...

Great to hear the final result Rod. I liked the sound of the guitar with the distortion. I would have liked to also hear it clean with no distortion on.

What's the tape you use for the bindings?/quote] I used the Scotch 3M Green Masking tape purchased from Bunnings for binding and it does the job. However, I think it would be better to use a stronger type of binding tape as recommended in the 'Gore / Gilet' Build Book. Thanks Wayne for the positive...

Re: New GS Guitar Build Started

I have been able to make further progress with the Steel String GS Guitar build. A small split on the the German Spruce occurred while working on the top and I had to make a small patch on the top (refer to attachment pdf photos). I have now closed the box and installed the purflings and side bindin...

New GS Guitar Build Started

I have started a new guitar build in February 2019 and this will be a slower stage project. (I need to provide additional care and support for my wife who is having ongoing medical treatment over the next 6 months. At this stage the treatment is progressing well). As time permits I will continue the...

The guitar looks amazing Allen! Beautiful timber combination styling and wonderful character. Now that the guitar is more settled in with the new strings do you have any more recent sound samples available. It be great to hear a sample of this guitar.

Very interesting inlay styling. I'd expect that the Jarrah has given the sustain character. Great result.

Excellent youtube presentation!

Will be on an Alaska inside passage cruise in Sept and would like to come and see your mill / guitar top sets. Unfortunately, I cannot include a visit with the preset cruise itinerary.

Thanks all for the helpful comments regarding the aspects of increasing guitar side body depth. I agree as Trevor has advised: " It's generally more fruitful to focus on getting the resonant frequency right, so as to avoid wolf tones.
