Decals
Sorry but i'm OVER the labour intensive expensive pearl logo headstock inlay thingy, just over it. Looking at other options of leaving my mark on my instruments, thinking about the waterslide decal or vinyl decal options, has anybody got some recommendations along those lines, thanks for any offers ...

Now that is a good question, can the author of a post delete it?or are the moderators the only ones who can?
I've seen that guitar on Facebook pages so i can't see why it would be removed from here!

Re: 17 inch jazz commish
Beautiful work Rod. It reminds me of Scott Chinery’s Blue Guitars project, which I saw at the Smithsonian Institute a few years ago. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uadXz7Nsmqk Your guitar would fit right into that company (D’Aquisto, Benedetto, Manzer, Monteleone) Thanks Mark, my first guitar was mu...

Re: 17 inch jazz commish
Hi Rod. Lovely guitar. The blue white blue purfling. Is it died timber or fibre and did you make it yourself or purchase it from a supplier? It’s dyed timber Bruce, I got it from Gurian instruments along with a heap of other purfling about 8 years back, with custom orders you have to buy a minimum ...

Re: Why a neck volute?
Very interesting Mark, I had the impression that the volute was more related to that of those used in the Viol family, violin, cello etc. I have used the volute on some of my builds mainly for aesthetics but thought it made sense because of the distant relationship that family and archtop guitars ha...

Re: Neck Carving
Something else to keep in mind too Dave, the thicker you fretboard is the less neck material you have to work with, so for a 20mm thick neck at #1 if your fretboard is 7mm thick you only have 13mm of neck timber, but if you fretboard is 6mm you have another 1mm of neck to play with, just something t...

The neck tapers consistently from the nut to the point where it rounds off down to the heel.

Re: Semihollow fifteen inch
Thanks Mark, yeah i made the knobs by using a hole saw without the pilot and then turned them on a spindle and put a brass insert inside to take a tap for the grub screw, i wanted to go that way because i thought my original plan of gold knobs would be too garish and too much bling but i think the g...

I was planning to take this to Port Fairy Folk Festival in March but
looks like it'll be out of town, looks like i'll need to" look alive" and finish something else or my stand is going to look a bit bare!!
