You might find some relevant information in this thread. Otherwise, try to track down Clancy.
Thanks, Trevor!! Lots of good info and sample numbers in that thread!

Vibrational stiffness freq for ukulele?

Hi, Does anyone has any data or suggestions about the vibrational stiffness f of a ukulele build? Concert or tenor, but everything would be of interest. I've used 150 with some luck at a concert uke. I derived the number by testing different values of f in my spread sheet, comparing the suggested th...

What is important is the combination of the two rows, one of each side of the brace.

One single carbon fiber tow doesn't do much, regardless of which side of the brace you glue it along. What is important is the combination of the two rows, one of each side of the brace.

I have spent some time measuring the specific mobility of some of my builds
How do you measure monopole mobility ? Exactly as in the books? I have the feeling that I struggled a bit with some units there. I will have to check some guitars again. Thanks! :-)

Re: Can you derive a freq plot from a sound clip?

Great idea! If you manage to get a method to capture the whole exact spectrum, that would be really, really nice!! You may at least be able to detect some of the lower resonances if you can find passages with maybe only one treble note ringing, and no basses. I have done so several times, but it's n...

So you plot is made with both top and back glued? But not bridge or any other elements? Right?

Re: Plate target thickness of non rectangular plates using deflection testing

It's maybe easier for himself to use the same weight every time, but a heavier weight gives more deflection - and the equations takes care of everything, including the distance between the two supporting bars underneath the top. So you are free to use any weight, I would however not use any extremel...

Re: Bouchet Bracing Resonances

I was looking at Courtnall's drawing of one of Bouchet's bracing patterns and was very surprised at the height of the transverse brace under the bridge. It is stated as 14 mm high at the centre, though he doesn't say if it tapers much towards the edges. Bouchet himself explains in his Cahier p. 44 ...

Re: Monopole mobility for ukuleles?

If you like "science building" make sure you visit https://ukuleles.com/ Thanks! Nice link. Yes, I have that book Left brain lutherie, but I was more looking for something like the tables at page 1-90 in the design book by Trevor Gore, or at least a couple of samples from what would be similar ukul...

Monopole mobility for ukuleles?

Has anybody measured the monopole mobility for any ukulele types?

I'm planning to make an ukulele and wondered if there were any references available.
