Luthiery Books

Hello,

I have a lot of books, magazines and DVDs etc. If anyone is interested in perhaps offering to take them all for an offer. I could list them and sell individually also. Any interest welcomed.

Hello Peter,

I paid around $1000...used it 4 times... so I guess about $500 would seem fair...

Selling my Luthiery wood and tools - retired

Hello All, I am stopping making classical guitars so I have to sell all my wood and tools. Much of the wood and parts I bought were from Stew Mac when the Australian Dollar was great against the US Dollar. This means I can offer good prices. The back and side sets were XXXX generally, as were the so...

Luthiery Practice for Sale

Hello, I am thinking of selling my Classical Guitar making tools and supply of quality wood. The operative words are "thinking of" (nothing final yet) so if anyone has some ideas of how to get a good price for my set-up please let me know. I have debated the idea with myself for some time and now my...

Hello, I am looking to get some Hide Glue in Australia if possible. I am wanting quality gram strength of 192 or upwards to 251. Does anyone know where I can get some? Bracing on a Classical Guitar back

Hello, I have glued on the bracing on a Classical back but I won't be ready to assemble the back onto the sides for a couple of weeks. I am concerned that in Courtnell's book he suggests it is not a good idea to glue on the bracing until ready to glue to the sides within a couple of days.. due to po...

Extraneous Old Wood Collection

Hello All, I am selling or giving away my excellent extraneous wood collection. The sort of wood I will use in my fantasy like "one day I might turn that into a sculpture"... being a newly converted minimalist it needs to go, just like my book collection I never read. What is there? A 100 year old p...

Radius Stick for Guitar Back

I am contemplating buying a 25 ft. radius stick from LMI but I prefer to make one. I am making a mould to make my classical guitar which requires a radius stick to calculate the dome of the back. Does anyone have the measurements for a 25" and 15" sticks? Surely they are easy to make if one has the ...

Lacquer on a Classical Guitar

Hello All: I have completed my third Classical Guitar... I am considering the lacquer finish... I don't want to French Polish this one... I am also considering Courtnall's idea of brushing with a Squirrel hair 1" brush instead of spraying (from England or anyone know a local place to purchase) ... s...

Cedar bracing

I have a stock of cedar bracing and want to use it on classical guitars. Some tops are cedar but most spruce. I am going to use the cedar bracing anyway because it is there so there is no argument about using spruce which I believe is better (but which I don't have and I have quite a lot I'd cedar -...

I am looking for ways to improve my dust collection. I don't want to damage my health. Currently I have a vacuum connected to my drum sander, nothing on my band saw or other devices. Classical Guitar fingerboard problem

I am building my second Classical Guitar. It seems my Solera must not have the correct angle to allow a slight "bend upwards" in the neck because it appears to be quite flat along the neck and onto the soundboard to the sound hole. There supposed to be 1 or 2mm gap at the 12th fret so the fingerboar...

I planned this trip a few years ago but didn't get it underway. My idea was to drive from Brisbane to Melbourne visiting Luthiers on the way. Dropping in for a chat and looking at workshops and perhaps picking up a few tips. I had a few Luthiers interested at the time. I am thinking of it again as a...

Classical Guitar maker needing motivation

Hello, I finished a classical guitar over a year ago and have a few on the go at various stages, but I am stuck. I think I need someone to shadow or share information with, preferable in real life, but not on the virtual net, although that is fine to some degree. I have inquired about courses and t...
