Trev, I think these might be your 12" extra flat stones. As far as I can tell they're still being made. They align nicely with what you've said about yours, anyway:

I've flattened sones really quickly with just 120 sandpaper on a machined surface like a tablesaw. As long as the stone is dry it's shocking how fast and easy it is to restore the surface. Finish with a finer grit and you're good to go.

Hi, I arrived here to see if anything new had been posted by Ervin Somogyi and found that it was all gone. Yikes. I can't help rebuild, but thanks to those that are putting things back together.
