Re: Strange colouration in WRC
Hi graham, It's not the pinkish colour I am worried about. It's the big brown stain thing in the top picture. Looks kind of like my dog took a squat on it. Seems to go all the way through too because it is showing through on the other side as you can just make out in the third picture. I have anothe...

Strange colouration in WRC
Hi have just joined and sanded the top for my second build. As I sanded a strange colouration on one plate began to appear. I thought that I could avoid it on the top but it has shown through. Any ideas what cause this? I am thinking of using another piece for purely aesthetic reasons but do you thi...

Re: Nitro to 2 Pack
I have had Mick Gentry work on my guitars in the past. He is a great guy and I know he has a spray booth. I have never had finish done from him before though but I can imagine he would do a good job. On the gold coast though.

Re: Grand Auditorium
Thanks for the reply Trevor. Yes I am getting close to the results in the book, to within .015mm at least. I sanded it with 120grit on a drum sander. One edge is straight but still at little rough. The other three are straight from the bandsaw. Would it make much difference if I planed all the edges...

Hi Guys, I am building a GA at the moment. I finally got the math for pate thickness (I think). It will be my second guitar with WRC and blackwood B/S. I was wondering if one of you knowledgeable folks could have a look at the results of my spreadsheet and tell me if you think this is a suitable pie...

Great news thanks nick. I can't really see a downside to it unless you are looking for super high gloss. I am sold, going to give this a burl on the next one.

Turned out fantastic Nick. How did you find the Tru-oil finish compared to spraying? Easy to apply? I am going to give it a go on my next.
Cheers.

I was in burnings yesterday and bought a 1/4 diablo. I was really happy to see they are now stocking diablo saw blades. I am going to get one for my chop saw. I know they have a reputation for being affordable quality.

Re: Another modal tuning course?
Trev,
I am probably a little green for it at the moment anyway (Just starting #2 and #3). Please keep me in mind once you have the numbers and are ready to go. I will try and make it happen no matter where it is.
Cheers.

Nick,
Does your saw look similar to this http://www.jettools.com/us/en/p/14-clos ... 0v/708115K?
If so Gary pye woodworking has jet riser blocks that also fits some other makes.

Humidity controller
Currently I store my wood and works in progress in a spare room in my house. I have a dehumidifier but it does not have a humidity controller built in. I thought rather than buying a new dehumidifier with a controller that is potentially very inaccurate, I would try one of the units from Auber http:...

Nice work Jeremy :cl :cl :cl :cl :cl :cl Clean classic styling :) :) :) . Thanks for posting. A good clean looking guitar Jeremy, with very nice EI rosewood.
