Re: Selmer question

Thanks Craig for the reply. I've routed it now so all good, from memory I think I went about 4mm, I was really just guessing but it looks ok. Wayne

Re: Truss Rod Channel

Gluing in a fillet will probably get glue in the channel too. I used to always use a fillet but now I just install the truss rod, I don't think the amount of glue seeping in will cause any dramas, I just keep the glue a bit thinner at the edges of the channel.

Selmer question

Just wondering if someone can tell me how deep the string relief scoop on the Selmer headstock is, I can't find a dimension on the plans I have or the Collins book ( could possibly be my crappy eyesight ). I can probably guesstimate it but I'd rather have a dimension to work with.
Thanks Wayne

Re: Bushwhacker Ukulele builds.

Nice Pete. I bought a diamond stone on eBay for about $40 400 grit on one side and 1000 on the other, for the cost I think it's great saves a lot of time compared to wet and dry on glass, which was how I was doing it.

Looking good Wayne, nice touch on the end of the f/b. Do you cut the inlay cavities by hand too ( dremel ? )?

Gidgee is pretty heavy too Pete, you might as well use ebony. I don't use ebony anymore, I use EIRW or blackwood now

Re: Strat.

Thanks Mark, it's a nice red ( pearl ) paint, really common on Mazdas. I thought I'd go with a custom shape for the head stock to give it some originality. Wayne

Strat.

Only my 2nd electric guitar, the 1st I made for myself about 10 years ago. The colour is soul red a really common colour on Mazdas, I was going to use candy apple red but it was to expensive around $500 just for enough to do the guitar. It has Slider p/ups they're replicas of the ones Jimi Hendrix u...

I print my own labels on parchment paper from officeworks, I think they look fine, you can get different colours, it's way nicer than just normal print paper. Wayne

Re: Another amp

Hi Rod, the guy that built the amp did the holes and lettering. I made the face plate gave it to him and after he drilled and printed it he gave it back to me to lacquer. He has a process of printing the lettering on the stuff used to cover school books that has adhesive on one side then he irons it...

Another amp

I've had the cabinet for this one finished for a while, I've been waiting for the amp to be built, I picked it up today and assembled it.
It's art deco style made from walnut and maple ( with some birds eye maple as well. )

Re: Bushwhacker Ukulele builds.

Looks thicker in the photo Pete, 2mm should be ok. When you want to add a photo go under the dialogue box click on attachments you should be able to work the rest out, just remember they have to be under a certain size. I resize mine with a program called fotosizer it's free and easy to use.Wayne

Hi Pete, I'm no expert on ukes but the bridge patch looks really big, how thick is it? Just my observation. ( not a criticism ).
