Here are some pics of a guitar I have been working on recently. It has come to be known as the parrot guitar. Those who have been at the school have seen this guitar take shape over the last few months. For those that don't know about the guitar, the peghead is marquetry. Back and sides are EIR, Sit...
I have never seen John's voicing dvd so it is difficult for me to answer your question. Kent Everett's dvd is a 2 disc set filmed during a master 2 day class last year. It is not a recipe book, but a complete course in how to make your guitar the most responsive it can be. It covers everything from ...
Allen, Here is another option. You can paypal him the amount. The international shipping is US$8 for both Everett DVD's (Voicing and set up) or US$7 for one dvd (either the voicing or set up) Don't forget to incude the actual cost for dvd or dvd's The paypal account is eric@apprenticepublishing.com ...
Those look like great additions to add to the library Robbie. I don't see an easy way of ordering them from Australia. Seems shipping is set up for the US only. Can I get all 3 DVD's somehow? Allen, I am checking with the publisher to see how he does the international shipping fees. I will get back...
Finally after almost a year of editing the Kent Everett DVD's on How to voice an acoustic guitar and how to set up an acoustic guitar are ready. These dvd's were filmed during Kent Everett master classes at Red Rocks Community College last year. The voicing dvd is a 2 dvd set with about 4.5 hours of...
Looking good Hesh. THat Australian Tiger Myrtle is some beautiful wood. I had a student build with it last year and the ebony bindings he used really dressed it up!

John,
most of your major laminate trimmer brands make a tilt base for their trimmers. It is usually cheaper to buy the laminate trimmer kit that comes with a couple of bases and some accessories than to buy the trimmer and base seperately.
Wish I had seen that when I was first starting out Robbie. Would have saves a lot of anxiety. Do you bother with using a gramil to score the top before you route the channels? I haven't yet, but occasionally get some chip out that I end up having to try and camouflage, so have a gramil on order, ho...
Thank you Bob for allowing me to post this here. Next year I will be offering an online French Polish course through the college I teach at. Here are the details. I will be teaching the same method I show in my Guitar Finishing DVD. We will cover the history of shellac, how to mix your own flakes, p...
This is something that also interests me. Quite often I get requests for soundbites of my guitars and I always politely decline. I just don't know where or how to get started and don't want to invest a ton of money into equipment or software. Time is also at a premium for me.
Thanks Alan. I have video footage already of carving a classical and a steel string neck. However, I haven't thought about going into different designs. It is now just a matter of finding the time to make tips du jour videos from the footage.
