The pieces in the pack I got were about a foot square. Note this stuff is fairly thin so youd use it for the layers underneath the top veneer which would a bit thicker than the stuff in these packs. I use offcuts of opp grade IRW from Allied Lutherie for the top veneer. I glue up the veneer sandwich...

Hey Lillian, Nice looking gramil.....might have a go at making one myself. For rogue grained sides I use a scraper plane.....better for removing large amounts of material than the cabinet scrapers and you dont get cooked fingers. Ive got two scraper planes...a flashy new Veritas and my favourite...a...

Are you talking about reducing the thickness of the headstock? I use a block plane for this....doesnt take long but watch for tear ou on one side of the scarf joint. Some people use a Safe-T-Planer in a drill press.

If youre doing a scarf joint on your headstock then the veneer will be necessary.

Without a headstock veneer getting a nice tight fitting nut slot might be tricky.

I have a confession...I just loooove the sight of a woman playing the cello. I obviously have a thing about child birth because a woman sitting with her legs wide apart playing a cello always reminds me of a woman giving birth.

Because the router is registering off the top of the guitar your channels are going to vary in depth depend...

The side bracing is a bit over the top in the upper bout. I looked at the view after installing the side struts at the end of the upper cross brace and decided that the UTB looked a bit strange without side braces so added them...purely asthetic.
