most luthiers in Australia drive Ferrari's and live in 18 bedroom mansions.... nah just kidding, most luthiers in Australia have real jobs and are therefore real luthiers. Good luck in your search. Have you tried the OLF or other luthier forums out there?

I have noticed price increases as well. I would have thought these will be offset by the higher dollar but it doesnt seem that way. I met a Hurdy Gurdy maker at a medieval carry on about 20 years ago. I dont remember if it was Harry but his instruments had a big sound. Very unique and perfect accompaniment for dancing, drinking etc. I didnt have the 5K needed to buy one....
