Dry Room 'Complete'

Cheers to Paul for his input on the construction process! I'm now in the market for a dehumidifier so if anyone has any suggestions for a reliable unit to run in this small space it would be much appreciated. Cost Breakdown - 50 mm freezer panel with a door - 2nd hand $300 (2.5m x 2.4m x 2.4m) - You...

Re: Source for Tru Oil in the Canberra region?

I got mine through the post from Western Firearms. Shipping was only a couple of dollars more expensive... There was a good suggestion ages ago on the forum to chuck a few clear marbles into the bottle every time you use a bit so the air is pushed out of the bottle and thus the bottle lasts you long...

Re: Workshop Space needed

Best of Luck! :D When I went to a few local co-ops I realised that unless you find a good one, you really don't know how the people are treating the machines...It would kind of suck to put a really nice piece of wood through a thicknesser or planer to find that someone less careful had knicked the b...

Re: Workshop Space needed

I think what you're looking for might be pretty hard to find. While you are only there 2 days a week all of your stuff will be in the shed space during the week while you are not. So you're essentially renting the space seven days a week... I doubt someone will be happy with charging you $50 a week ...

Re: Effects Pedals

Thanks guys that's exactly the kind of response I was hoping for.

On a recording I did recently I ran two chorus pedals against each other through two of the same amps. One with your standard 60s chorus sound and the other with a 80s Sco esque chorus .

Post WWII Family Photos

I thought this may interest some art lovers on the forum, my grandmother gave me a bunch of around 60 B/W photos spanning from 1949-1951 in a trip to post war Germany and Austria including locations such as the Island of Borkum, Oberammergau, Bavaria, and" Willhelmsen". They are all scanned and up o...

Effects Pedals

Hey Guys I'm a total noobie when It comes to identifying effects pedals but I've been looking around to try and see what kind of pedal you'd use to get such an 80s porn sound: Sounds like some delay, mixed with...

Re: Pitting on the body wood?

I linked that thread because quite a few of the people commenting on that thread repair guitars for a living. I know if I was spending $1800 on something I'd want to know of any potential pitfalls in design/ build quality/ repairability...but I'm no expert... For that price you are just shy of havin...

Re: Pitting on the body wood?

There was an eye opening discussion about trench bracing a while ago on the forums some of it quite 'negative' in terms of the durability of the design and the difficulty of future repairs. As quite a lot of the guys on the forum do guitar repairs it provides an interesting insight into what makes/ ...

Don't forget the other very simple plate jointing jig Markus! I guess technically it might not be a jig but works for me. I'm not sure if Jools/ the Woodrat still does it this way though!:
