Worked as a public servant for too long then took a package and for a "sea change" worked in several joinery shops. Currently working part time at the "House on the Hill" but have tendered my resi...

Re: Wet, damp Weather
Huon1.jpg Huon2.jpg Bob I have this piece of Huon birds eye. It is 270 mm long x 80-60 mm wide x 25 mm thick. Rough sawn, very cranky grain, definitely not quarter sawn. I bought it in Strahan about 25 years ago and was "gunna" do something with it. It has sat in the top of my wardrobe ever since s...

Re: Pattern following bits and router tables
Hi Trev
Is the bearing on the shaft below the cutters
fixed to the shaft (press fit) or does it slide onto
the shaft and held in place by the chuck/collet and
the cutters? The image on the Carbatec site only
shows one bearing on the top end of the bit.

Bill Some advice please re your Stanley scraper. I have one of these but find when I try to use it I get a lot of blade chatter, even with the blade set finely. Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong to cause this, or is it the way I am holding my mouth? Don't mean to hijack the original ...
