Re: Chisel set
Hi, I add this only because the discussion on chisels gets to hard and soft in terms of edge retention. Done some hardness testing in my shop with a rockwell tester and find Irwin, Narex, Robert Sorby and a Japanese set I bought from Southern Tone Woods are all in the vacinity of 60HRC (within 1 or ...

Re: Tear out
Only a newbie here Alan. Have you tried putting a drop of water on the tear out> Have had success with it on a couple of deep dings on a top. I used demieralised water. Had to do it about 3 times before it raised sufficiently.

Hi Robbie,
A question in regards to this video. That was a restoration and I guess hide glue would be the glue of choice? Is this system fast enough for that process?

Hi Steve,
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
However not for the customer or your brand in this case...
Might need to publish the serial numbers and guitars you have made on your website. At least you will have made a genuine attempt to stop the fakes.

Hi Wayne,
What a beautiful build. Is it a semi hollow like a 335? Love to hear how the P90's sound in it.
Thanks Andrew

Re: Grants
Hi Steve, We were successful in manufacturing. Applied for it on grounds of completely hands free manufacture process for a part of our production and totally paperless workshop. Got the former, not the latter. It is a lot of work. We have a fulltime accountant who put it together and also used a co...

Re: Forum section for business
I guess the question from me, a non luthier would be do you and the the other luthiers keep input into both the pro-forum and amateur-forum. I can't speak for others but I don't expect to get anything for free and if my questions to the forum lead me to get the outcome I desired I make effort to get...

Re: Binding bearings
Hi Ric, Was concerned about the cost myself, did some research and found what was readily available in Perth WA. Then went to the local bearing supplier and bought the closest bearing to the size required. The 2mm step was easy as the 22mm cutter and 18mm outer dia of bearing was easy to get. For th...
