Re: Walnut bend
First question..how thick is that side?
When I was using blankets and forms for my bending I used to start the waist bend on a bending iron before sticking it in the bender.
These days I bend by hand. Im old fashioned and enjoy being in constant contact with the wood as it bends.

Re: Gore plate thickness maths help
My last 12 string build was basically based on a 6 string dreadnaught but with an extra tone bar across the lower bout. All other dimensions were kept the same. The only significant difference as far as I can see between a 6 string an 12 string is string tension and a bit more fiddling around with s...

Re: Where has everyone gone?
This forum (on "the book") used to be a lively place. Now it can be weeks between posts. I've posted some things that should be of interest to those who have the book, and, save for Trevor (thanks, Trevor!), I haven't gotten a single comment. I hear you Greg and do read your posts. I did actually h...

My best router is a British made Trend T5.....hasnt missed a beat in 20 years Hi Martin, sorry to hear about your door stop, I use a wooden wedge, cheaper than your Ozito. My one has not got to the doorstop stage yet, I’ve only used it for 10 years now. I have 13 routers, many set up for speci...

Re: Contact info wanted Please.
Lack of a publicly displayed contact email address or phone number on the site seems to be an issue being flagged by a lot of people. Hope its not a taste of things to come. My email in box is being bombarded with advertising mails despite having requested Stewmac to stop sending them. Hi Martin, th...

Re: 12 string build advice
Welcome to the forum. Re 12 strings - I treat a 12 string build pretty much the same as a 6 string build with the following exceptions: - if using conventional X bracing I add an extra tone bar across the lower bout and a short brace along back of the bridge plate. - standard truss rod. - saddle com...

Re: Contact info wanted Please.
Yeah....when you select the "contact us" text it doesn't direct to a link. Cant find any phone numbers either.
Try this US phone no: (740) 592-3021
You could try a message to Robbie Obrien.

Theyre bldi expensive those files. I use the Japanese files and run them through a piece of candle to lubricate them while cutting slots.
