Fixing a dent in a Soprano Uke

Just a quick video on how I fixed a dent on a uke top...Caused by a clamp slipping during a dovetail neck joint glue job. :(
Don't take the end bit too seriously we were only acting about. :)

I was fitting some geared chinese type Kluson tuners to my cheap guitar project..I did it by eye and the result was not very good they just didn't look right..It's the first time I've done this on a new guitar neck...So I made up a simple device to hold the tuners in line while I re-drilled the pilo...

Ukulele saddle slot jig

I usualy do this job with an indexing device on the bandsaw but I have worn out the blade I normaly use..and I can't source another blade of the correct thickness...so I made this simple jig and it does the job just fine.

The trick is to place a piece of tight fitting rubber tube on the screw to keep the assembly together in position.

You place the top caul on the bridge turn the knurled knob...and the lower caul rises up to the bridge plate.
I made this one for Pete Howlett...but I don't know if he uses :) it

Welcome to the Forum Ken. As an engineer, I can see the problem with you Uke-O-Matic right off the bat, your dongle whatsit is way too tight and it's causing the flange-ama-thingy to crimple the blogit. Oh and for health and safety regs you might want to think of putting a guard around that vee bel...
