Re: Sheoak Squareneck Resonator
Now that is shit hot
I've got she oak set that's now been allocated to a reso uke. I'll have to do some more lay ups for rope bindings too.

Bob that is one sharp guitar. Very nice.
I do my ukulele double sides using titebond. The 1mm sides are glued together in an outside form and synched up using the same dressmaker's twill tape I use to synch the bindings.

Re: Scale length - does it really affect sound?
I think it's a case of a solution looking for a problem. I've got a mate who is built like an ewok. With hands like an ewok. He plays plenty well. No like Steve Vai but I doubt that's his thing anyway. Also, if you look through Ukulele Underground forum you'll find numerous threads where people thin...

Re: Mango Milling question
Maybe some uke sets.
That mango tree's just a baby. A 2m diameter is not unusual up here in FNQ. Outside one of the local nurseries is a mango tree at least 4m in diameter. It's the biggest mango tree I've ever seen.

Re: Stew Mac Binding Jig
I had to drill and tap to get my trimmer base to fit the SM jig. As a side note I own a heap of trimmer bases from eBay. I leave them attached to a bunch of jigs so I don't have to own half a dozen trimmers or move a single base to a heap of different jigs.

Re: Stew Mac Binding Jig
I find the bit-bearing rides half on the binding ledge if I do the binding channel first. I figure it's better to have the whole bearing bearing against the side.
