Otways Blackwood

Here's a nice little write up in one of the local rags about Murray Kidman and Otways Blackwood.

Skip through to page 17.

ANZLF even gets a mention.

Unusual Blackwood

A friend of mine in Tasmania sent me this pic of a Blackwood tree growing on his property.

There would be some fairly crazy grain the bend (break) one would imagine.

Whether it would be stable enough to use once dried would be another matter.

Brent Cole - Alaska Specialty Woods house fire

Hi Everyone One of our preferred suppliers, Brent Cole and his wife Annette, have lost their home to a house fire this morning. It was burnt to the ground and they lost everything. Brent is being treated for burns but I'm not sure how extensive his injuries are. Once I've been in touch with him I'll...

Re: Places to visit in New York

The Guitar Center in South Manhattan is worth a visit even if just to have a look at the wall of Les Pauls. They have some vintage stuff as well. Mandolin Brothers on Staten Island is about to close unless someone new takes it on. Might be worth a final look. According to the website you have to mak...
