Shell 'toxicity'
Having repeated heard dire warnings about shell toxicity, I was quite surprised when stumbled across this article:

That was great. I do enjoy the understated tone of your tutes too. I am sure if I attempted that there would be lot more drama and cursing

Re: Truss Rod Channel
Yep, I do just as you describe. Tape over the channel, spread glue over, peel tape off, fretboard down and clamp. The only addition is I usually have registration pins in the nut ledge and to locate the fretboard so it doesn't slip around.

Re: Slow neck carving
I find 1st-time students usually take a class (3 &1/2 hours) to carve a neck and non-cutaway heel, quicker for a cutaway. They usually take another class of sanding to get the neck/heel/headstock near finished sanded.

Engraving a pickguard
Hi All, Does anyone have any experience in engraving an acoustic pickguard? I would like to engrave a pickguard a bit like on a J200 except not that design/style. When I look at the material available on Stemac, it is only 0.6mm, which would seem much too thin to engrave. (LMI a bit thicker at 0.7mm...

Nice Chris. Did you make the endgrain binding yourself? It has a very nice effect.

Re: Light Bridges
Trent Nice bridge! Now some questions if I may? Is your bridge made up or one piece? Is that a Ukulele? May I see the whole picture as I like what I have seen, your outline. The Rosette is beautiful. I will have to source some blackwood and also iron a acetate. Do you mean Liptons Tea? Please excus...

Re: Light Bridges
Gidgee doesn't take to ebonising well (I think Pete Curly has posted several times about it). Blackwood on the other hand with steeped tea (just Liptons) and iron acetate solution turns jet black and is much less dense. The below bridge came in at around 12 grams:
