Re: Jazzmaster done a bit differently
Hi Mark, Yes the Mastery Stuff is the Go for sure , probably the only tremolo I have seen that actually consistently stay in tune , and the bridge is a ripper also. The Pickups are Seymour Duncan Antiquity 2's. The Cap, Paper oil type is a Soviet NOS from South coast Customs and it has a Treble blee...

Re: Pore filler for nitrocellulose finish
Hi Andrew, I have been using http://www.lmii.com/products/finishing/filler/aqua-coat-clear-filler, Works really well , with one rule , I apply a light (thinned 50%) coat of sealer first , if you don't it can dull the grain, particularly the end grain of the heel ( don't ask how I know) I apply with ...

Re: Suitable Tasmanian soundboards
Hi, I don't have any where near the experience that Bob has, but I will echo his comments I have about 10 sets of KBP and they are so , so variable, really there are only about 4 sets that are worthy of being used, the rest are just to floppy in both directions , which means by the time you brace th...

Jazzmaster done a bit differently
One for the electric guys. This will be the third guitar I have built for Ben, I guess because I get him and what he's after, so when he asked me to build him a Jazzmaster minus the BS, the issues and with a unique aesthetic, this is what I came up with. I won't bore you guys with the details , more...

Re: Bandsaw upgrade
You won't be sorry Rod,
I have been giving mine a flogging re sawing all the spoils from my Tassie trip, I have a Re saw King blade , some wood slicers and some 1/4 6 tpi's and that covers pretty much every situation .
Changing blades is pretty easy.
Cheers,
Paul.

Re: Black heart sassafras
Hi Peter, I have built two guitars out of it, they both sounded great, the stuff is pleasant enough to use, but does some funny things when exposed to moisture , ( i once applied some glue to a headstock veneer and in the time it took me to turn and grab some clamps it had rolled up like a newspaper...

Re: Jet/Performax 10 - 20 drum sander again
Hi All,
If you have a 10-20 , I strongly suggest you order the Mod Kit from Ken and do it before it goes and leaves you stuck, Ken Kindly did mine super fast , But that still left me without a sander for a few weeks, it's a fantastic fix and is much smoother than the Original.
