Looking good Paul. That Myall is heavy stuff. It's about the same as Gidgee which I used on a Maple OM recently. That one came in at 32 grams which, in hindsight, I thought was a little heavy. The guitar had some really nice bottom end but the tops sounded a little compressed, or lacking that sparkl...

Guitar Design Program - Lillian

Here's a guitar design program. http://www.connor.net.au/guitar_design_1.1.zip Very easy to use. No CAD skills needed. Just unzip it. and click on the .jar file. Then open up one of the designs. You can then print it off, tape the pages together and you have a template. The design for the nano-jumbo...

Whoops. That was me Rod.

Edit button has resumed normal operations.

We press the frets in before the fingerboard get glued.

I didn't have too much trouble with sanding the purfling. The finer the grit the cleaner it got.

They have a very light spray of shellac

Ron

I'll leave the description of a chunderer to Kim as I know he'll have a much more elaborately explained and eloquent answer than I could possibly give.

Dressing Fret Ends

Craig asked my how I did the frets on our last guitar so here it is. I've always found it difficult if not impossible to get the fret ends dressed consistently when they are attached to the fingerboard. So for this last guitar I bought a fret vice from Luthiers Cool Tools and dressed them all before...

Thanks guys. You'll notice that the waist on these is higher than the OM effectively providing a bit more real estate south of the bridge. Reason for this was the theory that most of the sound is coming from the lower bout. The upper bout is very small and should be stiff, giving some more support t...

A Bandicoot is a small Australian marsupial that hops like a kangaroo.

I put some posting ranks in so they'll change every 10 posts or so.

If you would like a custom moniker I can do that too, so let me know.

You'll see that Kim has one that he delighted in showing his wife.

The server that the forum is on is in my house Lillian so it is susceptible to internet service provider problems and power outages.

The Cable provider has been pretty good. I've been with them for three years and had probably half a dozen outages which they have fixed within 3-4 hours.

I'll be taking the camera for sure.

Serge the OM is one of the reasons I'm going to Tassie tomorrow. An old friend from uni days asked me to build a guitar for his son's 18th. So I'm delivering it personally as well as looking for some wood and visiting my folks who live in Hobart. I'm also staying with another mate of mine in Devonpo...

The soundhole is a touch under 4" which is the same as we do on the OM's
so it's actually reasonably standard.

Here's a picture of the two to give it some perspective.

Lillian here's a pic of one front on.

It is deceiving because the lower bout is 15" wide - the same as on OM -
so it's quite a small guitar.

Quite voluptuous methinks.
