Re: Shipping a book to Oz

I know that I would rather have a hard-copy of a book, but has your friend considered making it an option to purchase it electronically as an ePUB or PDF? Avoids postage all together.

Cheers

Re: #2 Completed

Really nice guitar, I really like the head stock shape too.

I cannot believe the skill of you blokes, it is just crazy the amount of fantastic looking guitars and uke's that are getting pumped out.

Well done

Wow, that is beautiful. If I was in the market for a guitar, that would tick all the boxes for me, I just love it.

Cheers

Re: first build - Blackwood tenor uke

I think it looks great, I reckon the rosette suits it perfectly - makes me want to build one.

Re: Dont think Robbie O'B has posted up this video..

Hi all I know this is an old thread but I would like to add that you can use this technique to route the saddle slot in a bridge. I made up a quick jig for the drill press so it was at the right angle and went slowly, not much at all in each pass. The 3/16 drill bit flexes a bit, so you need to push...

Re: Router?

You can always make a 16", I had no problem at all making one with my limited woodwork ability. I have a 3/4 HP motor on mine which is a little underpowered when re-sawing large pieces, it really needs a 1HP at least I reckon, and I think it cost me about $350 to make all up. I am sure most of you a...

Re: Soundboard too thin?

I'm not going to tell you whether to use it or not, but things to consider would be -How much more will be removed in finish sanding -how much time and money do you have invested in this top vs total time and money to finish the guitar Bugger it, I will just order another top, I want to get it righ...

Re: Soundboard too thin?

Thanks guys I may as well leave it and put an extra brace on it as Martin suggests, it is a learning experience after all - if it fails, it fails, and I wont do it again. Ideally I should feel a soundboard that is thicknessed correctly, that way I would know what it should feel like if I ever build ...

Soundboard too thin?

Hi all, I have embarked on my first attempt at building my first acoustic using Cumpiano's book and already made a miscalculation regarding the top thickness. I meant to take it down to 120 thou as per the book but it ended up more like 90-100 thou. I wasn't concentrating, and was thinking 120 thou ...
