when i was doing my apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker we where taught in metric but the older guys at work talked in imperial a lot, so like bob have a handle on both systems but always covert to metric i mark out in metric think in metric i.e. mm never cm. I folks, I have built a couple of odd ball ukulele's recently and used friction tuners Gotoh from ASLP I think they are fairly ordinary compared to the geared ones I fist got from Stew Mac. Is there any decent friction pegs out there I can use to replace the ones I have? I would not have enough room...

I am going to give a bit of Vic Ash/Tassie oak ago.
I made a biscuit bridge for my home made resonator guitar out of it and sounded as good if not better than the Maple one I brought from USA.

Sebastiaan yes the back is enclosed.
The tin is the way it came when it had 3kg of tea in it.
The neck is all the way through the tin.

Great program had a listen Saturday night and fond it compelling. It will be repeated on Friday afternoon I think around 3pm after the daily planet. My radio is tuned to radio National all the time if you want to be informed about the world and often discover some different music you can't go wrong....

The sound well is made from a biscut tin lid it had the center cut out and than I formed a stirp of metal 25mm and glued it in to make the sound well. A ply ring was glued to the base for added strength and stiffness as a biscuit tin is quite thin. The sound well was glued to the body with a product...
