Re: Nitrocellulose issue
Put a face mask on, well ventilated area and just keep wiping it down with a fresh rag and paint thinners, it will eventutally just wipe away back to the sealer coat
Many a time I have sat there and removed a nitro finish with thinners and a face mask

Once nitro has cracked and split you really need to remove it back to bare wood to get a smooth finish again

Re: Carving necks on the spindle moulder
Good idea, i could extend the ends over like a hook on the flat top
This is my one, purchased it about 10 years ago, done maybe 100hrs of work on it, so its just barely broken in.

But to answer your question, if you buy it in australia it willcost you the price of a new suv, excess of 30k, if you buy from china its 1/3 that cost but lots of work is really needed to bring chinese one up to scratch, (I went with chines...

Re: Carving necks on the spindle moulder
Beauty of a jig like that, it allows you to run a few profiles which are customizable, down side of those router bits you see for shaping necks from stewmac etc is that its one shape.
If you go down the path of making a jig, yell out and make two , I will happily buy one from you.
