Re: Paint Booth
Thats dedication Ross. Even commercial paint booths spray cold in winter. I was able to go into my paint booth and be nice and warm, the second you turn the extraction fans on to paint, the doors are forced closed from the vacuum and all the outside cold air is drawn in. Have spoken with car painter...

So wow, the world has changed so much so quickly. For me.. Re: Bellied up top
Its really your x brace that needs replacement.
Pop the back off, then you can replace them and not damage the top at all.

Re: StewMac fret blade arbor size
It is very difficult to drill or ream or machine the centre of a saw blade, anything slightly of centre and you will have balance issues, cut issues and so forth.
Maybe consider getting a drop saw, that is what i use.

Re: How do I fix this wavy side..
You could just leave that alone and take care of it in the finishing stage. Apply a few coats of sealer and lacquer and then flat sand it

For those contemplating doing it here in australia, I soak in shellite from bunnings for a week or so after boiling, kangaroo bone packs are also around 5 dollars

Cool cool, thanks
Some of the tutes are a bit of a waste of time IMO, but I try to show different aspects of how I do my repairs from simple to complicated

Re: New Luthier Tips du Jour video - Rosette installation
Nice vid. Sounded pretty good for a cardboard sides and back.
I actually have a tricky one in at the momment for repair, ovation 12 string with cutaway, the top is folding under tension at the rosette area adjacent to the cutaway, seeing your post made me rethink and question the why.

Re: New Luthier Tips du Jour video - Rosette installation
What are your thoughts if I may Robbie, on installed Rosette areas Buckling under string tension, is that in your view more to do with the sides buckling or lack of strength under the rosettes from the inlay process or something entirely different
