Re: Brazilian Rosewood

I was having a conversation with a family friend who plays guitar and he said he heard through the grapevine of some guy called John in NSW who made really nice guitars. He said his last name started with B but he had a really odd nickname and it was on the tip of his tongue. Turned out it was the "...

Re: Label design

It kind of reminds me of KALA ukuleles...mainly because the "u" from malu and the "a" from kala are quite a similar shape when written in cursive. It definitely reminds me of a uke brand I saw recently but I can't quite put my finger on it.
Regardless it's looking good, keep it up!

He whinged, pissed and moaned the whole way about how slow it was, while I sipped on the fresh coffee I had just made and enjoyed the stillness of the morning while the little deisel putted away quietly, looked at the birds, watched a couple of dolphins mucking about , Then he asked that question: ...

It's nice to see an instrument that doesn't get the limelight much in an orchestra scenario, let off the leash.

Re: Acoustic body

To answer this question I must recall an analogy from a self help book written by master luthier Michael Thames: In which he writes: "To me, making an acoustic guitar is like making love Sometimes you want to know how long it took you, Other times you don't really want to know, or wish you didn't......

Sorry to Reopen an Old Thread but what would be the max thickness of veneer you could likely punch through with a wad punch? You would struggle getting through anything near 3mm I would imagine?

Re: hardest guitar ive ever built!

Andrew, Markus is just jealous as when he has to make a guitar themed cake he has to first make this: http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu290/iheartmotherhood/armadillo1.jpg Then he has to then decapitate and amputate to get his creation looking like this: https://c1.staticflickr.com/7/6056/6251876...

That's Awesome! I read a great book as a child that helped me though a similar birthday build. Hope it helps anyone thinking of undertaking similar builds. Did you find Tim Tams produced too muddy a sound as humbuckers? http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1STXS4b-Z9A/T6OleCe5m-I/AAAAAAAABTc/zaWE7KpAh8M/s640/b...
