Guitar #2.

Well finally got Model #2 finished. Basically an OM sized acoustic. Again I've used recycled Silky Oak for the back, sides and neck. The top is Indian devil tree ( Alstonia Scholaris ), which was knocked down in a a storm earlier in the year. It is native to Australia. Its air dried density is 385kg...

Re: another introduction (and bonus tonewood question)

This is from the Maton Guitar Website http://www.maton.com.au : Bunya Bunya ( araucaria bidwilli ) The Bunya Feast was a regular gathering of indigenous people from around the Bunya Mountains in Southern Queensland. They would gather to feast on the ripe nuts from the Bunya tree and to sing, dance a...

Re: Buffing

My buffer is a Snap-On one, but there are cheaper options out there. You do need a compressor of reasonable size though to run these things so if you don't have one then this becomes an expensive option if only using it to set up for buffing. Re: Guitar #1.

Some progress on the neck.
Spent a lot of time sharpening spoke shaves etc... But ended up doing most of it with files. I thought the "feel" was better.

You can see that I've also built my Neck Joint Routing Jig.

Re: Lap slide

I've got a plan that Christophe Grellier used to have on his website.
Happy to email it to you if you want to check it out. There is a pdf with a file size ~260kb and a dxf ~2.5Mb.
They are pretty basic though
