#2 Completed

I actually finished this guitar back in December last year, but did'nt like the sound, too much treble :( . It sounded exactly like my 1st build, good but not great. Then the light turned on, sudden brain spasm  , to begin to get a better sounding instrument I would have to learn the art of vo...

I live in SW Sydney & would be interested if it is held in the Sydney region.
I'm sure there would be enough people to participate.

They use trash. . .
I have lots of nice tonewood & great tools to work with, I hope that I build instruments that will sound just as good.

Truly amazing. . . I wish them all good fortune.

Re: Machine head/Tuning peg broken screw

Hi, Success :D Nick, your a genius. . . I basically used your suggestion but just free hand it. Centre punch the broken screw, set hand drill at lowest speed/torque & just take it steady & slow. The metal shavings just came out, no problem, clean out the hole & insert the new screw & don't over tigh...

Hi Everyone, Help required. . . I was fixing machine heads to guitar, got to the last one & the screw broke just as I gave it one final turn. The screw thread is below the wood surface so can't withdraw it. The machine heads are Wilkinson with an open back & 2 attaching screws (like Waverly tuners) ...

Hi everyone, Paul, great topic, lots of interesting discussion. I'm in the middle of finishing my #2 build and seem to have run into the same problem as you (washboard effect). Steve as you said, I think we all try to achieve a finish in one hit, only to find when we begin the buffing process, hidde...
