Ebay, bandsaw, cheap? needs TLC.
Missing its table , needs a metal one made up . A good way to maximize ripping . How many times in a lifetime do you need to tilt a table on a band saw? For me 0 so far. Nice old saw though . How cheap will it go for ? My guess $68.50 :D Any one else want to try and Guess ? http://www.ebay.com.au/it...

Hey, what about using a vibrating dildo? How much do they cost? And, how long do the batteries last (or can you plug them into a 220V socket?  Yeah Dennis , you can buy ones that plug into the mains power , or you used to be able to , I don't know if they are still available. A friend to...

I was reading an old book the other day on Pattern making , the wooded type made for doing castings for machinery in cast iron or other metals . The pattern makers used to use shellac to seal patterns and colour different parts. The author was writing of how the shellac should be kept in a ceramic j...

Re: Macassar Ebony
Sounds like it's either the way you are applying the shellac and the timing between coats possibly, or the old silicon problem . If you suspect it may be silicon from the Mat you could try lightly wet sanding sanding the timber with some white vinegar. It's used for the removal of cured silicon , so...

  I Love this place . Nice one Nick . I know a fella who may like to see that . That could be interesting to play with and figure out the radius of a curve to a plane blade. Like the video says , good for lateral adjustment. When jointing , I usually set it to what I think is right , retra...

John , why go around the world for some Mahogany , with your wood finding talents you could just be the person to find this Mahogany ship that some think is buried in sand dunes down here . The state government put up a reward for any one who could find it years ago , no one did . A whole ship of so...

Here is an interesting thread regarding that type of saw combo and price Nick
http://www.woodworkforums.com/134019-habco-homeshop/
Got to say it looks like a dangerous little thing as well , you would need to box it in . look at how the wood drops off the table in to the belt .

Yeah , that's nice .
I wonder if he cuts the glass himself and how , or does he get a glass man to do it ?
I suppose it would be water jet cut ?
That would cost $ paying some one else to do it.

Nice Saw !! $500 save it Pete , if you can . If you can figure out the wheel diameter or the model , I can give you all the specifications on it if you want them . I have a 1939 catalog with what looks to be the same saw . The 60 " MF with vertical and horizontal roller feed. There is quite a few mo...

Re: helical cutter thicknessers
why would it be so much different do a helical cutter (im assuming you mean spiral cutter)? Its still staggered cutting bits so wouldn't it do the same job? It looks to me that the blades come down and contact the timber the same way a long blade does . its just that they are smaller and stepped ba...

Re: helical cutter thicknessers
Yeah , that's not a Helical cutter . With none of the benefits of a Helical. It may be a quieter cut and that's all that would be different I would think.

Its a strange looking head for a helical . It's a bit hard to see what it is , not anything like the normal type Ive seen . I don't ,run any but have been checking them out for a while. here are links to the real deal , with some good reading. http://www.holbren.com/spiral-cutterhead/ http://www.byr...
