Re: duh Travel Guitar

See not being from down under, me not familiar with your Oz colloquiums such as "friggin cack" But must afford you the benefit of the "no bout a dout it" and as such say "thank you." A rough translation would read "makes me laugh", ie I enjoy your humour. Friggin refers to masturbation and cack is ...

Re: The A-440 Freek~wince~E

I am always bemused by the reverence which some historical instruments are held. Usually we hear them played at A-440 when the pitch was not near that at the time. An off the bald head scat list - Cremonese violins (Stradivari, Amati, Guaneri etc, etc) Not only played at higher pitch but with new ne...

I sat through a Cat 3 on Daydream Island once. There was a lot of force in that puppy but fortunately the place was made of concrete so there was no real damage. Cant imagine a 4 or 5. Ive flooded three times this year as well. A good year to forget. Good luck.

Re: Lute Progress - Test runs for cutting the rosette

Very nice Martin! :cl

How thick is the soundboard around the rosette? From memory Lute soundboards are 2.5mm at the rosette and 1.3mm elsewhere? Are you backing the rosette with vellum or the like?
