Re: Wood Rebirthing

... so tell us where you might have found a unique piece of wood that was once someone's trash but became your treasure. I had this 'piece of trash' gifted to me a few years back by a woodworker friend in Albany. It came off the side of an old Telecom (now Telstra) 'manual' Plug & Chord style switc...

Re: Silicone Heat Blanket

Hi xray If you were to use the basic high-school-level physics equation: Power (1300watts) = Volts (240v) x Amps ... ... then you would need a 'minimum' amperage rating of ANY control device rated to at least 1300/240 = 5.4amps or ideally higher. Not sure what a router controller is rated at, but ce...

Hey Kim ... thanks for the kind words, mate! ------------------------------------------ It was Robin Johnston's Playmaker show on ABC Radio National in May 2008, where she interviewed members of your group, that inspired me to try and build a guitar for myself. We're glad you enjoyed the radio show,...

Just out of curiosity Allen ... how many mm did you take the surian top down to, and do you have an inside image of the top's bracing pattern? Wood or CF bridge plate? Maurie also 'shared the love' around Albany with some surian boards to try out a while back, and I'm keen to give it a go. Nice desi...

Ta Bob for the tip.

Is that figure of AUD$129 with free P&H a fair price? ... or are there other suppliers in Oz offering better deals (I got to that eBay SonicWave link above via Google) that ppl may know of?

Can anyone recommended which of this lot of K&K pickups (note free postage) might suit a ukulele, or would the Pure Western Mini do the job?
