So the body top was trimmed, A veneer was added to the sides with the grain in the vertical direction . The fret board and neck were also being done . A bit more of the build, With the top oak block in place it sits proud of the other layers , this is because the pivot point has to sit just under the top veneer layer to be in the correct spot . Very nice! Interesting that such a famous guitar was a 'homer'. Hi guys , well with only 5 posts since 2009 I spose I'd be a lurker too.
I build the odd electric maybe one a year , I'd like to do an acoustic but don't have the space for a decent setup .

Iwata LPH-80-124G with a 250 ml pot . Seems to be the perfect size for guitar work and being LPHV the is not much mist coming of. I use it for both 2pac and Nitro

Well I'm using some Red Box at the moment although not on guitars , To me it seems like a brittle wood more so than Red gum .
