Re: Finishing
hi there
i have used the hard shellac/acetone as described by Gilet/Gore in their Manuals and after a couple of goes have found it very quick and gives a great finish, i did not pore finish but it is all covered in depth in their books.
And no previous experience

Re: Finishing using Hard Shellac
I did not do any pore filling, have to maybe try that on the next lot of guitars, (i read some part of a thread here about exposure to to the epoxies), i have only added acetone 1/3 base mix and 2/3 acetone (that's the way i read it in the book, 19.6.1). This an exciting part of the process the timb...

Finishing using Hard Shellac
this is first attempt at finishing guitars (pretty much anything). Using hard shellac (ubeaut) and the advanced method in the Gore/Gillet books. so far i think that is not to bad about six coats and waiting for it to harden for a few days the do some sanding. 24879280_10212012894052459_1987883203_o....

Bridge Thickness different on Bass to Treble
I am up to making the bridges for some guitars I am making, (first lot of builds). i use a couple of guitars at home to reference (also "The Gilet & Gore Books"). Looking at the bridges today I noticed the thickness of the bridge on the Bass side is thicker than on the treble side, is this for weigh...
