Re: ziricote OM
Thanks for the comments guys. Ziricote can be a bit brittle, you have to thin the sides down a bit more than other timbers, can't remember what i made them but i followed Allen's recomendation. Wayne

I've just finished this one, had a few hiccups along the way, twice i banged it into the wall and had to repair the dings and i also sanded through the finish in one spot while levelling, what a pain in the arse to repair ( maybe someone with more experience could do a tut on repairing finishes ). b...

Re: Grain Filling with West Systems Epoxy
I use timbermate sometimes and it's like what the other guys are saying dark grey instead of black, so today i added some black tempera powder to it and it seems to have done the trick, i used it to fill the fret end holes on an ebony f/board. Turned out really good. Wayne

Cocobolo parlour classical
I've finally finished this one, after putting a hole in the top, and then having to remove the bridge after it was glued because it moved and i didn't notice, plus a whole pile of other mishaps. It's taken just on 12 months, i'm not completely happy with it, just glad it's done at last. B/S cocobolo...

Re: britton timbers & tassie blackwood
Andrew, you could try Aust. Furniture timber in Port Melb. I get a bit of timber from them. Maybe call first to see what they have in stock, you can buy as little or as much as you want.

Bridge removal question
I think i have one of those guitars that dosen't want to be built. I've had to replace the top after i dropped a jug on it, then i had to take the neck off it and make a new one after it was glued on because it was made for the old top and didn't fit the new one properly ( i shouldn,t have used it )...

Like Liam, i seal the top first Kim, only i use shellac, no fibre tear out that way and easier to clean up any excess glue. Wayne

Re: Dust Masks
Steve, there's not much you can do with p2 paper masks they'll always fog up, you can use a canister mask with a p2 filter in it, i have a sundstrom and use that quite a bit. Not sure how much they are, i get mine for free. Wayne
