Fast connection....ya gotta be joking mate. The IT out here is painfully slow. If I have my laptop plugged into the network it takes 15 minutes to open a Word document. I work with the network unplugged and only plug it in when I have to send an email or map to a network drive. Been trying for a wee...

Building a composite guitar would be as boring as batshit.....each piece of composite lovingly created by a machine in a sterile environment to exactly the same specs as the last one....no character...all clones. The guitar is assembled by another machine and eventually out the arse of the factory p...

My understanding is the positive rake is designed to achieve the same end purpose as neck relief dialed into a steel string via the truss rod. My fretboard is same thickness along its length to maintain the effect of the positive rake.

LN's Australian site doesnt list the Aurios. Would be worth ringing them up though and checking if they can get some in...if were buying a few of them it might work out cheaper with shipping etc. The supplier is actually just up the road from me in the Adelaide Hills. Might pay him a visit when I ge...

Fiji....Truely a Bananarama Republic

With almost no controversial news allowed to appear in martial law ruled Fiji, one newspaper has decided to inject some humour into the situation. The Bainimarama regime has imposed a state of emergency and introduced censorship of news media. The country’s smallest of three daily newspapers, the ...

Looking good Alan. Interesting to see you using a workboard. I made my first two steel strings on a workboard but went to a mold for the 12 string. Ive got to say Im used to the workboard and will probablly go back to it for the next build. The sitka looks nice...you certainly got it for a good pric...

My clasicals are built with a slight positive rake on the neck. To get this you plane in a ramp on the neck section of the workboard. The offset at the nut is about 2-3mm referenced to the main body area of the workboard. For cutting your tenon on my steel strings I use a Woolson jig....easiest way ...
