I havent tried this...I prefer my nuts clean and sparkly white.

I had a loose knot on one side of the Allied Op Grade IRW I used on a recent classical. I flooded it with CA and had no problems with it. The knot actually adds character to the instrument.

Im hand cutting my fret slots using the LMI jig and Stewmac saws..works fine and the exercise is good for you.

One thing I do is run a bit of wax along the side of the saw to make it run a bit more freely.
