Never been a great fan of tipping but I can see your reasoning Allen & a great idea. They certainly would lift their game if it earnt them more for doing so. I've gotten some shoddy service in the past but fortunately more & more resturants have popped up here in Christchurch & the owners and staff ...

That'd be like losing your stash...... I take it that by "stash" you are refering to tonewood supplies?  Yeah I back up Sebastiaan's sentiments & hope everybody you know & love are safe. Gidday Steve, reasonably new here myself so I won't hand out the formal welcomes I'll leave that to one of the old hands. Saw Coffs Harbour on NZ news last night and yeah it did look a little damp under foot, hope it hasn't disrupted too many people, that's all Aussie want now is more natural disast...

Dave and Nick, If the shellac mix is left to stand , the wax will separate itself from the mix . You can then pour it off. 100% Alchohol seems difficult to obtain . In any case, it soon picks up water from the surrounding air and becomes 95% Methylated Spirits bought from the store is 95 % and does...

Dave,Briwax make a shellac sanding sealer which I bought from Bunnys, it's a brush on that I use to seal the inside of the guitar before nailing the top on so I guess you could use on binding channels. I did use it once to seal the outside but wasn't very happy with how the topcoat lacquer stuck to ...

I have ordered products from Carbatec here in NZ & touch wood have had good service so far but I can understand your frustration. A week is too long to inform somebody an item is not in stock. Geez Hesh, you can even make a dread look good! :cl Nice job, I especially love the Adi board, I've always had a liking for the slightly wider grain look. Tighter grains my be 'structurally' better but they are fairly feature-less IMO. And you are right, doing repairs opens up your knowledge no-end!...

4. What is deemed appropriate attire while working on a side bender? A. Pyjamas and a pipe. How about the rather apt "Noel Coward" look? Smoking Jacket and a pipe. Then even if you cock up a side you could stare off thoughtfully into the distance holding your pipe & still look cool & sophisticated....
