carbon fibre truss rods in a UKE - Australia?
Guys I want to use a carbon fibre rod in my Uke build, because it looks like the right thing to do. For those of you that use carbon fibre truss rods, where are you buying them from? I know Stewmac and Lmi sell them, but is there a source in Australia, as I am getting tired of paying the crazy posta...

Thanks Liam, I made it around the 20mm mark, and after seeing it, I wont be scalloping it, it would be a bit light on.liam_fnq wrote:I wouldn't scollop it though.colburge wrote:Thanks AllenAllen wrote:I use 20mm inside the body

Thanks Chris, I will run with that.ProfChris wrote:Anything above 20mm should work OK - even on a tenor there's not a huge amount of string tension. 25mm sounds like a happy medium.

Re: Uke heel block size
Hi all I'm currently building a tenor uke and don't have any plans to work from, so need a bit of help. The body shape / bracing and scale length was easy enough to work out (with help), but I am unsure of the heel/head block size and design. In particular, how much wood do I leave on the body side...

Just a little off topic. I use another bote cote product but not for grain filling. http://boatcraft.com.au/Shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=49 This is a paste and is mixed 1 to 1, it's pre thickened with cabosil , fumed silica. It can be coloured with wood dust to use as a bog, otherwise it dr...

I haven't found a beer I don't like really. As long as it is beer I will drink it. Col  That's my stock answer when people ask me if I'd like a beer, then the obligatory "What would you like?" I got all the way to the USA with a bass that still needed to be setup once. I did it in the hotel room. The one thing I failed to do, was drill the holes for the strap buttons. Went across the road to the Guitar Center, and asked the in house repair guy if I could loan his cordless drill and a dri...

The "point" Perry is to waste as much of the spammers time as possible. If you get lucky as I have on a few occassions you may even get the tossers to waste a bit of their own money on phone calls..I usually give them the front desk numbers for the AFP or ASIO. While theyre busy emailing me and mak...

Good idea Stu,
I will download it and do some testing with it when I get some spare time. I have tried VOIP lots of times in the past and it never really lived up to it's promises, I will be interested to see the quality of this.

Trev I don't about guarantees, but I have used it on 2 canoes and a boat, which are now 3 years old, and the canoe has been sitting in the sun that whole time with just a couple of coats of Spar Varnish and it certainly hasn't gone white or deteriorated at all.
