Yes a fine guitar builder but we still have work to do in regards to his dress sense. Hes probablly sitting in his workshop right now in his purple shorts bending sides on a hot iron.

Cant give you a figure. I thin my sides until they feel flexible enough to bend.....with IRW Im going for about 2mm. For back I thin until it feels flexible enough enough to hold a 15' arch. If it gets a bit too floppy I add in extra back braces. IRW backs usually end up around 0.085-0.090" thick.

Several things went wrong actually. Example - one of the router base lock nuts came loose while slotting the bridge at about 30000 revs, but the wiggly slot helps keep the saddle tight. Know how you feel mate. I had the same thing happen while cutting a rosette channel with a Dremel in a Stewmac ro...

Nasty fiddly purflings......gluing up of same to IRW bindings made alot easier with John Halls lining clamps. And wax paper..useless for cooking but perfect for gluing up bindings and purlfings.

The...

Thanks for putting up the pics Billy...nice work for a first build. A few comments/questions: 1. A stupid question probably but I dont see any indications theres a truss rod in the neck (eg no hole in UTB for allen key to go through and access TR adjuster. 2. What sort of neck/body joint did you use...

Welcome to the forum Billy. Looking forward to pics of your current build. Would be interested to hear how you reconciled some of the different approaches to guitar building contained in Kinkaid and Campiano's books. Eg I tried Kinkaid's top/back clamping caul method and hated it.
