Greg Smallman guitar
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MmsHpUfj74 This Utube clip is a promo for Milos Karadaglic's CD "Milos The Guitar" The CD liner notes acknowledge the guitar as a 2007 Greg Smallman. Lovely music and an interesting bonus DVD, but unfortunately apart from the reference in the liner notes, no other de...

Re: Heads up for some bargains.
Oh I forgot to mention, I had to reinforce the top plate of my Go Bar Deck because it
was deflecting with the pressure of the rods. ( The base was a radiused dish.)
Thats how stiff the rods are with minimal deflection. Maybe they weren't such a bargain.

Re: Heads up for some bargains.
Lauburu Yes they are a bit stiff, but I have never used a go bar system before so I have nothing to compare with. I bought 6 packs x 4 x 7.9 mm poles and fitted 6mm rubber caps from Clarke Rubber to one end of each pole. I used them recently to glue the bracings on to a sound board and had no proble...

Hi Rob, Yes, you are right. Often when one takes time to reflect one realises that what seemed funny at the time to you isn't funny to anyone else. Dom is a very helpful and generous guy, I hope he has a sense of humour???? I'll soon find out, we are supposed to be catching up with Clancy who is bac...

Re: Sunburst finish.
Yes Rob, that is what I will be aiming for.
Darkened back and sides with a subtle sunburst finish
on the top. If all goes according to plan, the guitar will
be very plain, with no binding, top or back. So there
will be an issue with the exposed end grain absorbing
more colour.

Re: Sunburst finish.
Thanks to everyone who has posted a response. Dom-thanks for your kind offer, but for the time being I'll stick with hand finishing. Nick/Rob B/Graham-thanks for your pertinent comments and advice. Sunburst finish.
Would appreciate advice or comments on doing a sunburst finish by hand rather than with spray equipment. (I don't own or have access to spray equipment). I am thinking about a sunburst finish on a all mahogany acoustic using either Van Dyke crystals or Condy's crystals for the stain. Both are water ...

USB Microphones
As USB microphones have been mentioned in this section of the forum I thought it
might be of interest to some that there is a review/article on USB microphones in the
December edition of the Acoustic Guitar magazine, the one with Jerry Garcia on the cover.

Friday night question
I am contemplating installing a zero fret on my current build and was wondering if the distance between the
zero fret and nut was effected by the angle of the peghead?

Re: Side bending question
Hi Alastair
A general question on side bending if you don't mind, as I have limited experience
with side bending and have only used a Fox type bender. Do you soak the sides in a
hot water bath because you are using a hot pipe or only when bending "difficult" timbers?
