Archtop plates
Hi, A search didn't show much up here. Does anyone have info on archtop top and back plate laminate molds for either hydraulic or vacuum presses? Maybe even a CNC file for the male and female molds to place in a press? I'm avoiding the carved solid top route because of negative comments on cracking ...

Re: Knob Inserts
one solution I have used is somewhat wasteful but it works.
Buy a plastic knob with the grub screw and brass fitting and crack off the plastic. You can then re-glue the brass insert into your custom crafted knob.
A bit agricultural I know!

African Walnut
Hi, Some time ago when AFT was still trading in Port Melbourne I found a board of dark timber with MATON chalked on it. The guy said it was ordered by Maton guitars but they never picked it up so I could buy it which I did. I made a chambered solid body using the ( I believe it is African Walnut) ti...

Silky Oak Soundboard
Hi Having finished my falcate L00 with sassafras and sitka I now have a new OM project with blackwood and a silky oak soundboard (that's what my club had available) Anyone used silky oak for a soundboard? It seems quite heavy and I'm inclined to make it thinner (<3mm). I know Cole Clark use it a lot...
