Re: 3/4 size Dreadnaughts from Albany
Hi Peter Great to see some of the fine work of your group. It was Robin Johnston's Playmaker show on ABC Radio National in May 2008, where she interviewed members of your group, that inspired me to try and build a guitar for myself. Four guitars later and my fifth is underway. The next one will alwa...

Guilherme Vincens
I attended a wonderful concert in Canberra last night featuring the Brazilian guitarist Guilherme Vincens. The music covered both classical and Latin American works by popular composers. The MC when introducing Guilherme said that he had come to Australia to collect a new guitar made for him by Stev...

Re: Two young people playing classical guitar music
Thank you Markus for sharing that great post of the two young guitarists. I am taking lessons to try and learn to play the guitar. After making four guitars I thought it is time to try and do something with them. At 67 I think I might have left it a bit too late. At my age it is easier to make them ...

Re: Hi. First time builder Questions.
Hi Greg I am only a beginner but I found Cumpiano to be a good reference when starting on my first guitar. I also had the advantage of attending guitar building classes at a local evening college. Regretably the course folded through lack of numbers. If it is at all possible try and find a local lut...

Looks like you are a very busy man. Being Canberra based I would like to

Re: Finishing process
Rod I think I know where you are coming from. I have just finished my fourth guitar and as I do not have access to spray gear I have tried shellac, (but not a French polish finish) and a wipe on polyurethane, both with mixed results. As Kim says in the post on Bulls Eye shellac ........its time and ...

Davis Glue Pearls.
The price on the box is 7/- so the contents must be at least
45+ years old. The pearls are dry and separate they have not
congealed into a solid mass.

The heretics solution would be to clamp the back to close the
crack then use a thin super glue.

Re: Beginner/Bunnings woods
Al Good to see all the constructive advice being proffered. Why don't you go online and check out the tonewood suppliers in this country as they often have student grade material or lower grade material at reasonable prices. Compare this to the cost of purchasing from your local timber merchant plus...
