Planetary/straight style tuners for steel string

Hi There, I would like to have straight string pull on my current steel sting build but not have an asymmetrical headstock. So I am thinking of something like planetary tuners going straight through the headstock. The only option I know of is Steinberger Gearless Tuners. Does anyone else have any ot...

Re: Falbo Intension Bridge

Hi Frank,

Thanks for making yourself available for questions and I look forward to your response to the above discussion.

Do you have any frequency response curves of your design that you can share? Also do you have any deflection measurement of the monopole mobility?

Cheers

Re: Buckled side

If it's under 1/2 a mm and you have 2mm sides you can safely level it since the material removed will mostly be over the top of the linings.
Be careful not to over do it like I did

Falbo Intension Bridge

falbo-g.jpg I heard Frank Falbo speaking on a podcast about his intension bridge design, which I thought sounded interesting. So I looked a youtube clip where he speaks about it and draws a simple diagram about it. He states his bridge design reduces rotation torque on the bridge to produce a loude...

I know the Brisbane AGMS rout about 0.5mm on the bottom of the braces to take the CF but not the top.

Re: Cheap laptops

Why must you make this a forum of lies?

$289 is still cheap for lappy regardless. Still not sure I can bring myself to buy a lappy to run one app tho. How much of a pain is parrellels? It's about $80 plus windows for $180...

Re: Chlandi Patterns on Back

Hi Martin, No I was tapping the top with the mic in front of the top. I was doing the chlandi testing to help me identify the peaks in the frc. My original intention at first was to just build a guitar, but since starting as a student at the Australian Guitar Makers School in Brisbane, I have gone d...

Chlandi Patterns on Back

Hi There, I have recently tap tested and chladni tested a raw closed box (my first actually) and got the below fcr. I then I did chladni tests and got two strong results on the back; one at 235Hz which I kinda expected, but also got a response at 300Hz. Which while weird because it didn't match the ...

Re: Modal Tuning Course in Brisbane was a great success

Yes it was a pretty great weekend. Thanks again to Trevor and Andrew. As an aspiring builder (still on my first) it was great to move my focus out of the the woodwork project mindset and focus on the acoustic project side of things. So much information at times, but also many ideas too about what to...
