Re: A Baritone out the door in time for Christmas

Beautiful uke. Interesting heel... reminds me of a stiletto/high heel ;)

Agree with FrankenWashie, this uke has a particularly nice butt!

Re: Routing tear out

Thanks for the recommendation - sounds like a pretty versatile tool. The wife did say one tool for Christmas, but if one fits into the other and it really is a package set ... Maybe your wife was referring to something else Quite likely ... Wouldn't be the first time I misunderstood the words and t...

Re: Routing tear out

Thanks Martin and Wayne. All steps I didn't take ...

Christmas is coming up soon so I know what I'm getting.

Might also look into a laminate trimmer or a router - in hindsight a router bit in a drill press was not such a good idea either. But the quarter inch shank was too big for the Dremel...

Routing tear out

Hi guys

Just wondering what tool you use to prepare the build for routing? I didn't score the top or sides before routing and got some tear out on both... Keen to avoid that in future!

Cheers
Peter

Re: BRW Classical

Looks great to me. Must have been nice working that beautiful BRW ... Kinda mesmerising to look at now it's all polished and glossy. Re the nitro finish... I bought a brand new Ramirez 1a, tradicional model from their shop in Madrid back in 2011. Top, back and sides all finished in nitro. Someone sh...

Jose Romanillos "Making a Spanish Guitar" now available

Hi all This evening I placed an order for Jose Romanillos's new method book, "Making a Spanish Guitar". There has been a bit of talk elsewhere about this book but I haven't noticed anything on this forum, so thought I'd mention it's available. To purchase, you send an email to Jose's email address o...

Hi from Canberra

Hi everyone. Just a quick intro to let you know who I am. I've been playing classical guitar for over 20 years, and *thinking* about building guitars for quite a few of those. The time has finally come - so am looking forward to converting half the garage into a workshop for the time being, and gett...
