You can generally do without it. Depends what sort of work you're doing. Eg the other day I was gluing up pieces of burl into a rosette. The accelerator allowed me to speed up the job. One thing to watch is that you don't spray on too much accelerator as it will result in a hard white crust.

No need for accelerator on this job, leave it for an hour and you are good to start trimming then sanding.

A few people will want to rain cow poo on me... but I've had plenty of success with cheap, supermarket superglue on fretmarkers (and a host of other things too).

I've used tru-oil, wipe on poly or just boiled linseed oil to finish 3 different fretless boards and had great results.

P.s. I'm keen to try a wipe on CA finish at some stage too. Just make sure your work area is well ventilated, otherwise you'll float back out of the shed...

And also with $2 Shop superglue. The biggest difference I've noted is that the unused $2 Shop stuff is unusable next day. Perhaps more to do with the airtightness of the container than the quality of the contents?

However, I always use the expensive stuff on mission critical components and the cheap stuff on non critical work.
