APOLOGY, UPDATE, PROPOSAL

Post by ZOOTMAN » Tue Nov 25, 2008 11:06 pm

Good day to all. I feel it's time to give an explanation on the group buy for the Ebony & Rosewood order. My intent was to have this material delivered to Allen directly from India. The fellow that I was placing my order with has been less that honest with me. First a fire at his factory (an excuse he used once before but must have forgot). Latest was the material was shipped from his factory to him and will arrive in 7 days. When I questioned the length of time he explained that "his factory was 2000 km from his office"
What? Who in gods name lives 2000 km from his factory. Just more bullshit.

So here is my proposal.
I can fill 75 to 80% of the material from my inventory. In fact I think the only area I may be short is the ebony fb's. I also have a shipment on the way from a reliable source so that I can complete the order.

What I would like from you folks is a list of who can wait and who would like the material within the next 2 weeks shipped from me? I have informed Allen and he suggested I dump this guy and post this explanation. I would like to clarify that I have not sent this asshole any money so no worries on that end.

I offer my sincere apologies to all involved and will do my best to complete this transaction in a timely manner. I certainly appreciate everyones patience.

Warm regards to all
Bob Cefalu

This is a bummer Bob and most annoying when beyond your control because someone else has let you down. This guy must be a fool considering your profile and good name in the tonewood game. Anyhow, as long as the quality is there, I am quite happy to hold on because that was the only reason I went in on the buy, it offered first grade knot free clean black wood at a good price so if that is what can be supplied it will certainly be worth the wait.

Cheers

Kim

Bob,

I can wait as well as the quality is what I am after, thanks for your TLC on this matter,

Sebastiaan

PS I wont deal with sub continental types in my business unless its 100% deposit up front and even then most will try to creep some specification. The nicer they are the less I trust them, they have touched me up too many times. I suspect it is cultural. From the land that invented karma!

Sebastian I think your right on with your observations. I guess one needs to get stung a few times in order to weed out the rotten apples.

Sorry to hear you're getting the run around. Frustration must be eating you up at the moment, I'd imagine. :(
This sub-continental fella could well have a place in the other thread Martin started about dodgy suppliers. !!!

I'm happy to wait as well, Bob.

cheers, Stu

Do you have an idea how long before you're able to fill the entire order Bob?

This is a good example of what it means to deal with an honest man and reputable tonewood dealer (or anything else that Bob would sell.)

In Aussie-speak, "Good onya, Bob!"
