That is a great little binding trimmer Taff. You mentioned chatter if you cut too steep, have you tried a thicker blade? I recon a spare blade for one of those Ibex planes would be just the trick, but for some reason I feel certain you have something you could use at hand and will.

I seen something similar once where a worn down wood chisel had been clamped at the correct angle, that would work well to I suppose. Anyhow here is a link to the LMI website, they list the 10mm Ibex blade for $10USD.

Thanks for the close ups Taffy. It's a brilliant solution to a very common task. I just had to thin some purling by just a hair, and this would have worked a treat.

Kim, Lie Nielsen has an inlay section. I thought their thickness gauge was over priced, but the blade might be worth it.
