My nephew has caught the bug and started a build blog over on the UBEAUT forum

http://www.woodworkforums.com/showthread.php?t=88837

Call me a traitor but I thought there were a few more slab builders over there who might be able to help him along with whammy bars, pickups and lammy necks etc, so I suggested he post there first.

He's making an electric guitar with only Tasmanian woods. (except for the fingerboard - he doesn't know about mallee hardwoods yet, and anyway, they're not Tasmanian)

He's got some onsite help from my Dad and his woodpile, but i reckon he 'll need egging on from time to time. So if you're over there, say hi.

And me?

Well I'm totally uninspired at the moment. the heat makes the workshop unpleasant place to be, work is pretty full on, and all i've achieved is a nice walnut knife handle. Installing some J pickups in a bass on the weekend. but nothing new, just yet ...
