Allen in the Aust Wodworker
Allen in the Aust Wodworker
Hey, just picked up ther latest copy of The Australian Woodworker magazine and there on page 15 is a nice looking florentine cutaway guitar by Allen McFarlane. Cool.
I suspect it is the one we have seen on these pages with the arm rest. Bit hard to tell in the photo.
That right Allen?

Just picked up a copy. Yes, thats the guitar with the arm rest. Right behind it is another of my guitars. A PJ with a Australia Red Cedar top. A real favorite in Ravenshoe, as they use to log it very heavily there, until all the area went under World Heritage protection.
This was the first Woodworking Competition that I've ever entered, so didn't really know what to expect. The quality of entries was just so outstanding, that you'd have to see it to believe. I took out First with that guitar for the Novice Category, as this was my first competition. Next year it's going to be in the open competition, and I'll really need to lift my game to have a chance there.
If anyone is close enough to make a trip up to Ravenshoe, it's really worth while. It's a lovely little town, and a great drive in the Tablelands.

Congrats on the exposure Allen...Speaking of exposure, I done something that got me into a magazine once....I could never send a copy to my Mom but.Allen wrote: Though it's the very first time I've done anything that made it into a magazine, so I'm going to have to send a copy to my Mom.
Cheers
